Court issues seventh non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan

1 min read

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday issued a seventh non-bailable arrest warrant for Aleema Khan after she once again failed to appear in court in a case linked to the November 26 protest.

The ATC heard the case against 11 accused, including Aleema Khan, where the court was informed that neither she nor her lawyers attended the proceedings.

Due to her continued absence, the court reissued a non-bailable arrest warrant for the seventh time. A report regarding the freezing of her bank accounts was also submitted before the court.

According to the report, several accounts under Aleema Khan’s name exist in different banks, including those associated with Namal University and other welfare organisations. The court issued notices to banks that have not yet submitted their reports.

The court adjourned the hearing until November 6 after reissuing the arrest warrants.

The FIR in the case was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station against Aleema Khan and 11 others in connection with the November 26 protest.
