More than 5,200 Afghan nationals returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham Border on Saturday, according to official data.
A total of 5,220 individuals crossed back into Afghanistan, including 401 documented and 2,314 undocumented nationals. The latest figures bring the overall number of Afghan returnees to over 828,000.
Official statistics show that 19 Afghan nationals were repatriated from Islamabad, while 450 returned from Punjab during the same period. To date, 25,392 Afghans have returned from other provinces.
Through transit points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19 Afghan nationals were deported on Friday. The data further shows that 7,261 Afghans have returned after being processed through jails in Peshawar, Landi Kotal and Kohat.
Meanwhile, 1,326 Afghans stayed temporarily in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday before being deported.
Overall, more than 828,000 Afghan nationals have returned so far, including over 54,000 documented and nearly 628,000 undocumented individuals.
