On the occasion of Gilgit-Baltistan Independence Day, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new patriotic song celebrating the region’s unwavering love for Pakistan.

Titled “Pakistan Ki Shaan…Gilgit-Baltistan,” the song features young singers from Gilgit-Baltistan and highlights the deep-rooted and enduring bond between the people of the region and the country.

The song pays tribute to the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland. Its lyrics underscore the resolve that anyone casting a hostile eye towards Pakistan has always faced humiliation and defeat.

Calling for unity and harmony, the song promotes the message of rising above personal differences for the nation’s brighter future. It emphasises that Pakistanis are a great nation and must uphold unity, love, and brotherhood for the country’s progress.

Gilgit-Baltistan marks 1 November 1947 as the day of freedom from Dogra rule, a historic struggle aimed at joining Pakistan. Gilgit Scouts and local fighters revolted against the Dogra regime, ending the Maharaja’s control and raising the Pakistani flag for the first time in the region.

On 14 August 1948, after nearly a year of resistance, Baltistan was also liberated from Indian control. The victory of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan against Dogra rule remains celebrated as a historic milestone.

Due to its strategic geographical location, Gilgit-Baltistan holds not only defence significance but also cultural, economic, and tourism value for Pakistan.
