The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has blocked former prime minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan’s national identity card and passport in compliance with court orders.
The decision was shared in a report submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, where Judge Amjad Ali Shah conducted the hearing of the case registered against Aleema Khan and 11 other accused in connection with the November 26 protest.
Despite repeated summons, Aleema Khan and her lawyers did not appear before the court. The judge expressed displeasure over her continued absence and issued non-bailable arrest warrants for her for the sixth time.
Ten other accused, along with prosecution witnesses, were present during the proceedings. Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah also appeared in court with his legal team.
According to the NADRA report submitted in court, Aleema Khan’s CNIC and passport have been blocked in accordance with the court’s directives.
Meanwhile, the court also took up the matter of co-accused Arif Khan, who had earlier taken custody of a vehicle seized during the November 26 protest. As Arif failed to submit the required surety bonds, the judge ordered that he be sent to jail.
