Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $500 million during the first three months of the current fiscal year, reflecting a sharp rise in demand and import activity.
According to official documents, mobile phone imports increased by 103% in the first quarter of FY2025-26 compared to the same period last year. On a monthly basis, imports rose 28.58% in September 2025.
Data shows that mobile phone imports in September 2025 recorded a 94.48% year-on-year increase.
From July to September 2025, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $500 million, nearly doubling from $246.2 million during the corresponding period last year.
The data further revealed that Pakistan imported $199.5 million worth of mobile phones in September 2025 alone, up from $102.6 million in September 2024.
In August 2025, mobile phone imports stood at $155.2 million, while in July 2025, the import bill reached $145.3 million.
Market analysts say the rise in imports is linked to easing import restrictions, rising smartphone demand, and increased rollout of 4G/5G services across the country.
