The tournament has attracted a large contingent of young players from around the world, including China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and hosts Pakistan. The event is being sponsored by Ali Embroidery, National Foods, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

In the boys’ singles second round, Pakistan’s Amir Mazari, Ahtesham Humayun, Mikaeel Ali Baig, Abubakar Talha, and Muhammad Hassan Usmai moved forward with convincing wins. However, fellow Pakistani players Shehryar Anees, Zohaib Afzal Malik, and Inam Qadir bowed out after defeats in their respective matches.

International players also delivered strong performances, with Timur Gordeev of Russia, Marsel Alexeyev of Kazakhstan, and Kristijonas Milasausjs of Lithuania securing victories to advance.

In the girls’ singles, Pakistan’s Amna Ali Qayum progressed to the next round after defeating Japan’s Eyu Yoshida in straight sets. However, Soha Ali was eliminated by China’s Zihan Feng.

Players from Kazakhstan, Korea, Turkey, Russia, and China dominated most of the other matches as the competition entered a more intense phase.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) said that match fixtures will resume tomorrow (Wednesday) at 10:00 am.
