Pakistan’s national wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan has declined to sign the recent Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) central contract. The board had offered central contracts to 30 players for the 2025-26 cycle, but Rizwan listed in Category B — has yet to endorse the agreement.
Sources say that Rizwan has submitted a set of demands to the PCB before agreeing to sign the contract; however, the board has neither accepted these requests nor shown any intention to do so. All other centrally contracted players have reportedly signed their agreements.
The PCB’s decision to place no player in the top “Category A” bracket this year, and to assign Rizwan and other leading stars to Category B, has been viewed as a major shift in policy and a setback for senior performers.
The situation has sparked questions about Rizwan’s contract future, his broader role in the national squad, and how the PCB will respond to a key cricketer reportedly holding back from a crucial agreement.
