Islamabad Court bars arrest of Imran Khan in five cases until Nov 25

1 min read

A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has restrained police from arresting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in five different cases, including the May 9 violence cases, an attempted murder case, and a case related to alleged fake receipts.

The court also granted an extension in the pre-arrest bail of Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, who is accused of submitting forged receipts in a related case.

Judge Afzal Majoka conducted the hearing of all five matters involving the PTI founder and other accused persons.
During the proceedings, the court ordered that no arrest shall be made in the listed cases until November 25, when the next hearing is scheduled.

The judge further directed authorities to ensure that Imran Khan appears either in person or via video link at the next hearing.

The court then adjourned the proceedings and extended the deadline for the bail petitions to November 25.
