Saba Qamar says emotional role in “Case No. 9” Took a toll on her health

Renowned Pakistani actor Saba Qamar has revealed that her performance in the drama series Case No. 9 affected her health due to the emotionally intense scenes she had to portray.

The drama, produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under 7th Sky Entertainment and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain, has drawn widespread attention for its powerful storyline and impactful performances. Saba Qamar plays Sehr, a young woman who survives sexual assault and fights a difficult legal and social battle for justice.

In a recent television program, actors Shamoon Abbasi, Nadia Khan, and Atiqa Odho praised Saba Qamar’s performance, calling it one of her strongest. Abbasi described her as “a brilliant actor,” while Odho appreciated her “natural and deeply expressive acting.”

Responding to the appreciation, Saba Qamar shared on Instagram that filming emotionally heavy scenes repeatedly had taken a toll on her well-being.

“Such scenes impact both the mind and the body. Shooting them again and again affects you deeply,” she wrote. “I faced some health issues because of this.”

She added that despite the physical and emotional strain, she remains committed to performing with full honesty.
“I remind myself to take care of myself and stay strong. It’s difficult, but this is what I love, and this is where I find strength,” she said.

The cast of Case No. 9 includes Saba Qamar, Faysal Quraishi, Junaid Khan, Rasna Khan, Aamina Sheikh, Gohar Rasheed, Ali Rehman Khan, Hina Bayat, Naveen Waqar, Faiza Gillani, Kamran Jillani, and others.

Saba Qamar’s character, Sehr, is portrayed as resilient and uncompromising, standing up against a powerful businessman, played by Faysal Quraishi. The storyline highlights themes of courage, trauma, dignity, and the fight for justice.

The drama continues to receive strong viewership and critical acclaim for addressing sensitive social issues with emotional realism.
