Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi met Türkiye’s Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu on the sidelines of the Regional Transport Ministers Conference 2025 in Islamabad.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in railway development, logistics connectivity, and establishing a modern transport network. Abbasi stated that Pakistan and Türkiye have shared decades-long brotherly ties, which are now expanding into new areas of collaboration.
Both sides discussed opportunities for Turkish involvement in Pakistan Railways’ modernization projects. The two ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation in railway engineering, technology transfer, and workforce training. Abbasi said Pakistan aims to benefit from Türkiye’s experience in digitizing rail systems to improve efficiency and service delivery.
The discussions also covered logistics corridors, port connectivity, and upgrading Pakistan’s transport fleet. The two countries agreed to form a working group to strengthen coordination and advance joint transport infrastructure initiatives.
Hanif Abbasi thanked the Turkish minister and his delegation, expressing Pakistan’s commitment to elevating bilateral cooperation to new heights.
