19 New dengue cases reported in Rawalpindi in 24 hours

Nineteen new dengue cases have been reported in Rawalpindi during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of cases this season to 1,196, according to the health department.

More than 40 dengue patients are currently under treatment in various hospitals, while anti-dengue surveillance and fumigation campaigns continue in affected areas to curb the spread of the virus.

Health officials stated that so far, 18,783 individuals have undergone dengue screening during the current season. No dengue-related deaths have been reported in Rawalpindi this year.

The report further revealed that over 5.9 million buildings were inspected during the ongoing dengue prevention campaign. Dengue larvae were found at more than 190,000 households across the district.

Authorities identified around 26,083 hotspot locations and registered 4,641 cases for violations of dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs). Additionally, 1,885 properties were sealed, and fines exceeding Rs 11.138 million were imposed for non-compliance with dengue prevention measures.

Officials urged citizens to eliminate stagnant water inside homes and cooperate with surveillance teams to help contain the outbreak.
