Rawalpindi police launched a late-night crackdown in the City Police Station area of Gawalmandi, arresting six suspects including the main accused, Junaid alias Jeeda for allegedly stripping and brutally assaulting a local citizen.

According to the spokesperson for Rawalpindi Police, the arrests were made on the instructions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani after a video of the assault surfaced on social media. Police carried out overnight raids in Gawalmandi, taking six suspects into custody, while raids are continuing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.

The spokesperson added that no formal complaint had been filed regarding the incident. However, after the video emerged, the police registered a case on their own and immediately apprehended the prime suspect.

CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani stated that no one involved in the assault would escape justice. “Violence against any citizen will not be tolerated. All those responsible will be brought before the court of law,” he said.

Police sources confirmed that six suspects identified through the video have been arrested so far. Those in custody include Junaid alias Jeeda, Roheel, Yasir Khan, Faisal Masih, and Samar Abbas, while raids are underway to apprehend the remaining accomplices.
