Ministry of Health has reported another polio case, raising the nationwide total to 30 cases so far in 2025, according to sources in the Ministry of Health.
Officials said the latest case was detected in a 12-month-old child from the Kundar Tehsil of Torghar District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The child reportedly developed symptoms of the disease on September 19, 2025.
Health authorities confirmed that this is the 19th polio case reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, making it the worst-affected province in the country.
The Ministry of Health said that vaccination and surveillance teams have been dispatched to the affected area to contain the virus and prevent further spread.
Pakistan remains one of the two countries in the world, alongside Afghanistan, where the wild poliovirus is still endemic, posing a serious threat to child health despite ongoing national immunization efforts.
