Pakistani actress Komal Aziz Khan has finally opened up about the real reason she decided to quit acting, revealing that her decision was driven by family pressure and the pursuit of mental peace.
Komal, who rose to fame with the drama Bharosa Pyar Tera, has now completely stepped away from the entertainment industry to focus on her fashion brand, Omal by Komal.
Speaking on a private TV channel’s morning show, Komal shared that she came from a conservative and educated family that was never entirely comfortable with her acting career.
“My family was under pressure because they weren’t happy with my profession,” she said. “We had disagreements while I was working in dramas. They believed that after earning a degree from the U.S., I was wasting my potential in showbiz. Eventually, I left acting for my family’s peace and my own mental health.”
The actress revealed that she underwent therapy and mental health sessions before making her final decision to leave the industry.
Komal added that quitting showbiz was not a difficult step for her:
“It was easy for me to enter the industry, and it was just as easy to leave because I managed to keep my ego in check. I was never after temporary fame — I’ve always thought with a long-term vision.”
Reflecting on her journey, Komal said she made the decision to walk away at the peak of her career, even though she was succeeding both as an actress and a businesswoman.
“At one point, I had to choose one path, and I chose what felt right for my peace of mind,” she said. “Now I’m truly happy and satisfied, focusing entirely on my business and personal well-being.”
