An Islamabad court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur after he failed to appear in a liquor and arms recovery case.
The case was heard by Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan at the District and Sessions Court, Islamabad. Despite the case being called for hearing, Gandapur did not appear before the court.
Taking notice of his repeated absence, the magistrate issued non-bailable arrest warrants and directed police to arrest and produce Gandapur before the court on the next hearing date.
The court adjourned the proceedings until October 28.
The case against Ali Amin Gandapur pertains to the recovery of liquor and illegal weapons, registered at Islamabad’s Barakahu Police Station, officials said.
