BEIJING, Oct. 19 (Lord) — The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, in collaboration with the China International Cultural Communication Center (CICCC), organized the maiden Pakistan-China Fashion Show at the Great Wall of China on Sunday.

Renowned Pakistani designers Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah, and Zain Hashmi presented their collections specially designed to fuse Pakistani and Chinese fashion traditions. China-based Pakistani designer Aqeel Chaudhary showcased a jewelry collection, while acclaimed Chinese designer Liang Suyun also displayed her creations. The event was curated by Adnan Ansari from Riwayat.

Senior Chinese officials, members of the diplomatic corps, business representatives, and media personnel attended the event.

Speaking at the occasion, Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi said the majestic Badaling section of the Great Wall provided a symbolic venue to celebrate the enduring spirit of the Silk Road connection, now represented as a “modern bridge of fabric, art, and friendship.”

The ambassador noted that the show held special significance as it coincided with the 60th anniversary of the first visit by a Pakistani dignitary to the Great Wall. He added that the showcase reflected creative fusion and commercial potential, highlighting the strength of Pakistan’s fashion industry and its natural synergy with the Chinese market.

Chairman of CICCC Long Yuxiang said the event represented not only a grand cultural exchange but also a vivid reflection of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership in cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

He emphasized that both countries share a profound historical heritage and a common aspiration for better lives through the appreciation of fashion aesthetics. Long expressed readiness to work with Pakistani partners to explore the contemporary value of traditional aesthetics, create more distinctive fashion works, and bring new vitality to Pakistan-China fashion cooperation.

Badaling, the most renowned section of the Great Wall, hosted the show in a year marking six decades since the first visit of a Pakistani dignitary to the site.
