Pakistan’s national anti-polio campaign continued with full momentum on its final day, with more than 43.7 million children under the age of five vaccinated across the country, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

In its progress report, the EOC stated that over 23 million children were vaccinated in Punjab, while 10.4 million received drops in Sindh. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, health workers reached 6.16 million children, and in Balochistan, more than 2.58 million children were administered the oral polio vaccine.

The campaign also covered other regions, with 466,000 children vaccinated in Islamabad, 294,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 733,000 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The EOC emphasized that protecting the nation’s future generations from polio is a national responsibility and urged parents and guardians to ensure their children receive the vaccine. Officials highlighted the crucial role of parents, community leaders, and healthcare workers in achieving a polio-free Pakistan.

The EOC encouraged citizens to welcome vaccination teams and cooperate during the campaign. For assistance or information, parents can call 1166 or send a WhatsApp message to 0346-7776546.

The EOC further announced that in South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the campaign will be conducted from October 20.
Officials reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating polio once and for all, calling on every household to contribute to the national effort by ensuring all children under five receive the life-saving drops.
