Over 1,000 dengue cases reported in Rawalpindi this year: Health Authority

The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has released its report on dengue cases for the year 2025, revealing that a total of 1,093 confirmed cases have been reported so far this season across the district.

According to the report, health teams conducted screening of 16,810 individuals, while 21 new dengue cases were recorded in the past 24 hours. Currently, 56 patients are under treatment in various hospitals. The authority confirmed that no deaths related to dengue have been reported in Rawalpindi during 2025.

The DHA said that under vector surveillance and operations, health teams inspected over 5.8 million houses, identifying dengue larvae in 183,912 of them. A total of 209,162 larvae were destroyed during the campaign.

Authorities also launched a strict crackdown against violations of dengue prevention SOPs. As part of the enforcement drive, 4,551 FIRs were registered, 1,562 sites sealed, and 3,550 challans issued for non-compliance. In addition, violators were collectively fined Rs10.5 million (Rs10,507,000) for breaching dengue control regulations.

The District Health Authority reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining dengue prevention efforts through continued surveillance, public awareness, and strict enforcement of health safety measures.
