Following Afghanistan’s withdrawal from the upcoming Tri-Nation T20 Series in Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly contacted the Zimbabwe Cricket Board to participate as a replacement team.
Sources indicate that if confirmed, the series will now likely feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe. The Tri-Nation Series is scheduled to take place in Pakistan from November 17 to 29, 2025, although a revised schedule is expected to be announced soon.
The move comes after the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced its decision not to participate in the November series, citing unspecified reasons. PCB officials have been working to ensure the tournament proceeds as planned despite the change in participating teams.
The Tri-Nation Series serves as a key preparation event ahead of the next T20 World Cup cycle, providing teams with competitive match practice in the lead-up to international tournaments.
