The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a nationwide crackdown against drug smuggling, conducting seven operations across multiple cities and arresting six suspects, officials said on Friday.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the raids led to the seizure of 205.291 kilograms of narcotics valued at over Rs18.5 million.

At Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, two passengers travelling to Jeddah for Umrah were caught with capsules filled with heroin and ice concealed in their stomachs. In the first case, officials recovered 0.562 kilograms of heroin and 0.219 kilograms of ice packed in 94 capsules. In another operation, 73 heroin-filled capsules weighing 0.442 kilograms were extracted from another passenger.

In Rawalpindi, ANF recovered 68 grams of weed from a parcel sent from the United Kingdom at a courier office located inside Chaklala Garrison.

A separate operation near Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza led to the recovery of 120 kilograms of hashish and 30 kilograms of opium from a vehicle. Another 30 kilograms of hashish was seized near Bacha Agha Bazaar in Baleli, Quetta, where the suspect was also arrested.

On Bannu–Kohat Road near Pindi Pul, ANF recovered 14.4 kilograms of hashish and 3.6 kilograms of opium from a suspect, while in Rais Goth, Hub Road, Karachi, another 6 kilograms of hashish was seized.

All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway to identify the broader network involved in drug smuggling.
