Pakistan prepares tactical plan for South Africa white-ball series

2 min read

Pakistan has finalized its tactical approach for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa, with the team management instructing curators not to prepare flat batting tracks, sources confirmed on Thursday.

According to insiders, the Pakistan team think tank has directed that the pitches should offer balanced conditions, allowing both batters and bowlers particularly spinners a fair chance. The move aims to counter South Africa’s strong batting lineup, which thrives on high-scoring, flat surfaces.

“The idea is to avoid one-sided, run-heavy contests,” sources said, adding that the team’s strategy focuses on exploiting spin-friendly conditions to gain a competitive edge.

Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing regarding the final squad selection for the limited-overs fixtures. Sources in the selection committee revealed that an additional spinner may be included in the squad to suit the conditions.

Officials added that preparations for the T20 World Cup are in their final phase, with no player ruled out of contention, including Babar Azam and Naseem Shah. “Every available player who fits the team’s current needs will be considered,” the source stated.

The T20 series between Pakistan and South Africa is scheduled from October 28 to November 1, while the ODI matches will take place on November 4, 6, and 8.
