Security forces killed eight terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Sultan Khel area of Lakki Marwat district, according to security sources.

The operation, carried out by the Pakistan Army on October 16, was launched following credible intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists linked to Afghan Taliban proxies in the area.

Security sources said the forces initiated aerial and ground surveillance in the Sultan Khel and Tofan Wala regions.

Upon detecting terrorist movement, troops swiftly engaged the suspects, resulting in the elimination of eight terrorists.

During the operation, forces recovered a large cache of weapons and explosives from the terrorists’ possession.

According to security sources, the action is part of a wider counter-terrorism campaign targeting foreign-backed groups attempting to infiltrate Pakistan. Over the past four days, as many as 102 terrorists sent by the Afghan Taliban have been killed in similar operations across the border regions.

The successful operation underscores Pakistan’s continued resolve to eliminate terrorism and prevent cross-border activity threatening national security.
