
Pakistan have climbed to second place in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 standings after their impressive victory over defending champions South Africa in their opening match of the new cycle.
With the win, Pakistan secured 12 points and hold a 100 percent win percentage, making a strong start to their Test campaign.
Current leaders Australia remain at the top of the table with 36 points, having won all three Tests they have played so far, also maintaining a perfect 100 percent record.
Sri Lanka occupy the third position with 16 points and a 66.67 win percentage, earned from one win and one draw in their two matches.
Meanwhile, India, who have played the most matches in the current cycle (seven Tests), sit in fourth place. Despite earning the highest total of 52 points, their win percentage stands at 61.90, following four victories, two defeats, and one draw.
Cricket analysts praised Pakistan’s strong start, noting that the Green Caps’ commanding performance against South Africa has put them in an early position of strength as the WTC race begins.
