Nepal and Oman have officially secured their places in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 after impressive performances in the Asia East Pacific Qualifiers, marking a major achievement for both teams.
According to tournament updates, a third team from the same qualifying region will also advance to next year’s mega event. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) currently stands in third place with four points and remains the favourite to clinch the remaining qualifying spot.
The UAE is scheduled to play its final qualifier match against Japan later today, where a victory would guarantee its berth in the T20 World Cup 2026.
The 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will feature a total of 20 teams, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
Confirmed participants include Pakistan, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the United States, the West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, and Oman.
Cricket analysts noted that Nepal and Oman’s qualification highlights the growing competitiveness of associate nations in world cricket, while the UAE is looking to maintain its consistent World Cup presence.
