In light of recent viral images showing her ex-husband, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in a close moment with American singer Katy Perry aboard a yacht near California, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau has issued a public response.
According to international media, the images show Trudeau and Perry sharing affectionate moments, which drew significant attention on social media.
Though she has appeared composed outwardly, insider sources say Sophie felt deep emotional pain upon seeing the images, particularly given the decades she spent with Trudeau.
Just two days after the images circulated, Sophie posted a message on Instagram that was widely interpreted as emotional commentary. She wrote:
“Sometimes we forget that what we love won’t always stay with us.”
She reflected further that people, places, and moments we believe will last forever are sometimes lost to time. Yet, she said, love is not about possession—it’s about presence. When such treasured moments and close bonds slip away, they become lessons.
