After earning millions at the box office in Pakistan, the Pakistani horror-thriller film “Deemak” has now captivated audiences in the United States, where it received an overwhelming response at a special screening held in Dallas, Texas.
The screening took place at the renowned Angelika Film Center, accompanied by a red carpet event attended by members of the Pakistani, Indian, and South Asian communities. The event was organized in collaboration with Radio Azad and Wah Wah Productions.
Among the attendees were the film’s leading stars Sonia Hussain and Saman Ansari, along with director Rafay Rashdi and producer Syed Murad Ali, who interacted warmly with fans and media representatives.
The audience praised the film’s unique theme, strong performances, and high-quality visual effects (VFX), calling it a landmark in Pakistan’s growing film industry.
Speaking at the event, director Rafay Rashdi expressed his excitement over the film’s international reception and revealed that he is seriously considering a sequel — “Deemak 2.”
“This isn’t just a horror film — it’s a creative experiment blending art, emotion, and realism,” Rashdi said. “We aimed to deliver social and psychological messages through this story while maintaining cinematic balance.”
Actress Sonia Hussain said she was deeply moved by the love and appreciation shown by the Pakistani community in the U.S.
“My character was emotionally intense and challenging, reflecting both human weakness and inner strength,” she said.
Actress Saman Ansari described the film as a milestone for Pakistani cinema, noting its world-class production quality despite a limited budget.
“Deemak represents a new era for Pakistani films — one that combines creativity with technical excellence,” she remarked.
Producer Syed Murad Ali added that Deemak has been met with tremendous success both domestically and abroad.
“Our goal was to prove that world-class films can be produced in Pakistan even with limited resources,” he said. “The response from audiences in the U.S., Canada, and Europe has been truly inspiring.”
With its growing international acclaim and talk of a potential sequel, “Deemak” continues to reinforce Pakistan’s cinematic presence on the global stage.
