The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has directed universities across the country to conduct the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) in accordance with the approved curriculum and examination guidelines.
According to a PMDC spokesperson, all question papers will be reviewed in advance to ensure the removal of out-of-syllabus questions, and universities have been instructed to strictly maintain confidentiality of examination materials.
The spokesperson clarified that the PMDC will not directly administer the MDCAT, which will instead be organized by designated universities. However, the council has already provided a detailed exam policy and structure to ensure uniform standards nationwide.
The PMDC further announced that admit cards will be issued seven days before the exam, and that question papers will be opened only in the presence of government-appointed witnesses to ensure transparency.
Universities will be required to announce MDCAT results within seven days of the test, according to PMDC guidelines.
As per official figures, 140,125 candidates have registered for the upcoming MDCAT scheduled for October 26, with 35 examination centers set up across Pakistan and one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The PMDC added that all exam preparation and printing processes will adhere to strict quality and security standards laid out by the council.
