Pakistan, UAE collaborate to drive digital transformation and innovation

On the sidelines of GITEX 2025, Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, met with H.E. Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, to discuss collaboration in digital governance, AI innovation, data infrastructure, and startup development.

The Minister highlighted Pakistan’s Digital Nation Pakistan Act, National Data Exchange Layer, and initiatives promoting a cashless economy, smart governance, and AI integration. Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in advanced technology, data innovation, and cross-border startup investment.

Minister Shaza Fatima also met Mr. Massimo Falcioni, Chief Competitiveness Officer at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office. The meeting focused on expanding UAE–Pakistan collaboration in digital investment, fostering innovation, and exploring opportunities for cross-border technology partnerships.

Additionally, the Federal Minister met Mr. Muneeb Anjum, CEO of AHAD, for an in-depth discussion on advancing Pakistan’s cybersecurity landscape. The dialogue emphasized building digital trust, implementing robust security solutions, and enhancing public-private partnerships to strengthen national cyber resilience and the innovation ecosystem.
