The Sindh government has imposed Section 144 across the province for one month, banning public gatherings, rallies, and sit-ins, according to a notification issued by the Home Department.
The notification states that under Section 144, no assembly of more than five people will be permitted in any part of the province. The restrictions are aimed at maintaining public order and preventing any potential disturbance to peace.
The Home Department said the decision was taken on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Sindh Police (IG Sindh), who cited security concerns and the prevailing law and order situation as key reasons for the move.
Authorities have warned that violations of Section 144 will lead to strict legal action under the relevant laws.
The ban will remain in force for 30 days unless withdrawn earlier by the provincial government.
