
Sixteen new dengue cases have been reported in Rawalpindi during the past 24 hours, according to the District Health Authority.
Officials said that so far this year, 14,148 individuals have been tested for dengue, with 948 confirmed positive cases. Currently, 49 patients are under treatment at various hospitals, while no dengue-related deaths have been reported.
As part of the ongoing dengue surveillance campaign, teams have inspected more than 5.6 million homes across the district. Of these, around 180,266 houses were found positive for dengue larvae. Additionally, 1.57 million outdoor spots were checked, with 24,292 testing positive for dengue presence.
Authorities said dengue larvae were detected and destroyed at over 204,000 locations, and strict action was taken against violations of anti-dengue SOPs.
District Health Officer Dr. Jawad Ahmed stated that 4,502 FIRs have been registered, 1,857 premises sealed, and 3,515 challans issued. He added that fines totaling Rs. 10.9 million have been imposed on violators as part of the district’s intensified anti-dengue drive.
