Lahore metro and orange line still shut down due to TLP protests

1 min read

Metro bus and Orange Line train services in Lahore remain suspended for the fourth consecutive day due to ongoing protests by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), while other traffic in the city is operating normally.

According to officials, the suspension was ordered as a precautionary measure amid the demonstrations. The protest has also caused significant damage to metro infrastructure.

At the Shahdara Metro Station, protesters vandalized the facility, breaking glass panels and damaging equipment. Reports indicate that cash counters were also taken away by the demonstrators.

Meanwhile, authorities have reopened all motorways leading from Lahore for vehicular traffic, easing movement across the region despite the continuing protest-related disruptions in the city’s public transport system.
