Rumors surrounding American pop star Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have been confirmed following the release of a viral video showing the two enjoying a romantic outing off the coast of California.
In the footage circulating on social media, Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, can be seen aboard the singer’s luxury yacht “Caravelle” near Santa Barbara, sharing affectionate moments, embracing and kissing on the upper deck. The scene has put months of speculation about their relationship to rest.
Eyewitnesses described the pair as “relaxed and carefree,” seemingly unconcerned about nearby tourists. Perry was spotted wearing a black swimsuit, while Trudeau was seen with his arm around her back.
A bystander reportedly identified Trudeau by his distinctive “Haida raven” tattoo, a design inspired by Canada’s Indigenous heritage, visible on his arm.
Katy Perry is currently on her world tour, which has so far earned her nearly $80 million in revenue.
Justin Trudeau, who stepped down earlier this year after nearly a decade as Canada’s Prime Minister, separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire in August 2023. The former couple share three children: Xavier (18), Ella-Grace (16), and Hadrien (11).
Perry also has a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, from her relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, which ended earlier this year after nine years together. She was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.
Speculation about Perry and Trudeau’s romance first surfaced in July, when the two were reportedly spotted dining together at Montreal’s popular restaurant Le Violon.
The viral yacht video now appears to have confirmed what had long been rumored, a new celebrity power couple in the making, blending Hollywood glamour with political charisma.
