Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that Makkah and Madinah are dearer to Pakistanis than their own lives, calling it a great honor for Pakistan to host and safeguard visitors to the holy sites.
Speaking at a ceremony held in honor of the Pakistan–Saudi Joint Business Council delegation, the chief minister said she had spent several years in Jeddah during her exile, which made her deeply familiar with the city. “I can say that I know Jeddah as well as I know Lahore,” she remarked.
Maryam Nawaz described Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s brotherly relations as exemplary for the entire Muslim world, noting that Saudi Arabia holds a special and leading position in the Islamic community. She also said the recent defense agreement between the two countries had been warmly welcomed by the public.
Highlighting her government’s development agenda, the chief minister stated that Punjab is working on modern lines and remains committed to taking Pakistan’s ties with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to new heights.
“We are providing the best facilities to investors,” she added, expressing gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their continued trust and confidence in Pakistan.
