The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration has thwarted multiple attempts to travel abroad using fake documents, arresting four suspects, including a woman, at Islamabad and Quetta airports.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the Rawalpindi Immigration staff offloaded three passengers names Salman Khan, Badshah Khan, and a woman identified as Armaghan Balkhi for possessing forged travel documents.
Salman Khan, a resident of Swat, was traveling to Saudi Arabia on flight PF718 for Umrah but was found carrying a passport with a fake Serbian visa. Badshah Khan, from Dir, was attempting to travel to Bahrain on flight PK187 on a visit visa. FIA officials said a fake Italian residence card was recovered from his mobile phone.
Investigations revealed that Badshah Khan had previously traveled to Azerbaijan and Libya in 2023 and was caught attempting to enter Europe illegally via Libya before being deported back to Pakistan earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Armaghan Balkhi, an Afghan national, was stopped from boarding flight PK749 to France after she presented a counterfeit Swiss residence card.
All three suspects apprehended at Islamabad Airport were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Islamabad, for further legal proceedings.
Separately, FIA Immigration at Quetta Airport intercepted a passenger identified as Kaleem Kamal who was attempting to fly to Azerbaijan using a tampered passport. Upon inspection, a fake Polish visa sticker was also recovered from his possession. The suspect, said to be a resident of Karachi, was handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Quetta, for further investigation.
An FIA official stated that the agency remains vigilant against all forms of human smuggling and illegal travel attempts, reaffirming its commitment to curbing the use of forged travel documents.
