The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has reported a significant increase in remittances from overseas Pakistanis, with inflows reaching $9.53 billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal year—an 8.4 percent rise compared to the same period last year.

According to the SBP’s latest data, $3.18 billion were sent to Pakistan in September 2025 alone. Among the top contributing countries, Saudi Arabia accounted for $750 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with $670 million, and the United Kingdom with $450 million.

During the three-month period, overseas Pakistanis remitted $2.31 billion from Saudi Arabia, $1.98 billion from the UAE, and $1.36 billion from the UK. Remittances from European countries stood at $1.28 billion, while Pakistanis in the United States sent $800 million during the same quarter.

The central bank noted that the growth in remittances reflects continued trust and engagement of the Pakistani diaspora with formal banking channels, despite global economic challenges.
