Veteran Pakistani actress Rabia Noreen, the widow of late actor Abid Ali, has said that just as issues regarding actors’ payments are coming to light, the truth about television awards will also soon be exposed.
In a video message shared on her Facebook page, the senior actress responded to fans’ questions about her participation in an upcoming private TV channel’s award ceremony to be held in Houston, USA.
She requested her followers not to ask whether she had been nominated or invited to the event, saying, “Please don’t ask me if I am nominated or attending any particular award show for my performance.”
Rabia Noreen added that many fans question why other artists are traveling abroad for such events while she is not. “How can I explain all this to you?” she said. “This is show business — what is shown is different from what happens behind the scenes.”
She concluded by saying, “I can only say this much — just as payment issues are being exposed, the truth about award shows will also come out soon. Wait and see.”
