Pakistani actor and host Adnan Siddiqui is facing criticism on social media after viewers accused him of imitating Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s actions from the Indian reality show Bigg Boss.
Adnan Siddiqui currently hosts the reality show Tamasha, Pakistan’s version of the internationally known format Big Brother. In the show, Siddiqui plays the role of “Badshah Salamat,” the authoritative host who monitors and guides contestants.
This season of Tamasha features mostly new and lesser-known participants, which has drawn mixed reactions from the audience. Some viewers have praised the inclusion of fresh faces, while others complain about the lack of discipline, competition, and entertainment in the show. Frequent quarrels and harsh exchanges between contestants have also received criticism.
In a recent episode, Adnan Siddiqui surprised the contestants by visiting the Tamasha house. Upset by the mess and disorder, he personally picked up a vacuum cleaner, cleaned the floor, washed dishes, and tidied up the kitchen counters.
The video clips quickly went viral on social media. However, many viewers noticed a strong resemblance to scenes from Bigg Boss, where Salman Khan had once cleaned the house to deliver the message that “no work is small.”
This sparked an online debate, with some users accusing the Tamasha team of copying Bigg Boss without acknowledgment, while others sarcastically commented that the show had “borrowed the idea but refused to admit it.”
Still, several fans defended Siddiqui, saying that copying a positive act is not wrong if the intention is good. Actor Faizan Sheikh even praised Siddiqui, calling him a better host than Salman Khan.
The debate has fueled more attention for Tamasha 4, with opinions still divided over whether the scene was an homage or simple imitation.
