An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad has ordered the arrest and production of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Omar Ayub Khan, Sheikh Waqas Akram, and Zartaj Gul in connection with the Sangjani rally case.
During the hearing, presided over by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra, the court issued arrest warrants for the three PTI leaders after noting their repeated absence from proceedings. The judge observed that none of the accused had appeared in court even once since the case began.
The court also dismissed Omar Ayub’s plea seeking exemption from personal appearance.
Representing the PTI leaders, advocates Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan, Amna Ali, and Murtaza Turi appeared before the court.
Following the issuance of the warrants, the court directed law enforcement authorities to arrest the three PTI leaders and present them before the bench.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned until October 20.
