The fare hike applies to two popular railcar services, Subak Kharam and Subak Raftar, as part of recent adjustments aimed at improving passenger amenities.

Under the new structure, fares have been raised by Rs150 to Rs250 per ticket. In exchange, passengers will now receive onboard refreshments as part of the updated service package. According to Pakistan Railways, the revised fares for the route are Rs2,500 for AC Parlour, Rs2,250 for AC Business, Rs2,100 for AC Standard, and Rs1,300 for Economy Class.

Railway officials stated that the fare adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the overall travel experience and maintain operational sustainability amid increasing service and maintenance costs.
