KP Anti-Corruption launches probe into provincial election results

1 min read

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Department has decided to scrutinize the results of several provincial constituencies and has invited applications from candidates and individuals who possess Form-45 records.

According to Adviser on Anti-Corruption, Musaddiq Abbasi, the move comes in light of recent court directives regarding verification of election outcomes. He said the department has started examining complaints related to constituencies PK-79 and PK-82 in Peshawar.

Abbasi clarified that the Anti-Corruption Establishment does not initiate action without receiving formal applications, urging all candidates with evidence or copies of Form-45 to submit their requests for investigation.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded inquiries into results from 13 provincial constituencies, including eight in Peshawar, two in Bannu, and two in Shangla. The party has alleged irregularities and called for a transparent review of the election process.

The inquiry is expected to shed light on the transparency of the recent provincial elections and determine whether any manipulation occurred in the vote counting process.
