YouTube has removed a series of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated videos featuring Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan after the couple took legal action against the platform and the creators.
According to Indian media reports, the videos were uploaded on a YouTube channel named AI Bollywood Ishq, which had amassed over 16 million total views. The channel featured 259 videos that used AI to depict several Bollywood actors, including Aishwarya and Abhishek, in inappropriate or romantic scenes created through digital manipulation.
Following the couple’s legal complaint and a damages notice, the creator of the channel reportedly deleted the content voluntarily. YouTube confirmed that it continues to remove misleading or altered material that violates its policies on manipulated media.
Earlier, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan had filed a petition in a New Delhi court, arguing that the AI-generated videos infringed upon their personal rights and privacy. They also urged the court to ban such content and called for a review of YouTube’s policies on AI-generated material.
