Pakistan demands Junior Hockey World Cup matches be moved out of India

1 min read

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has formally requested the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to shift Pakistan’s fixtures in the upcoming Junior Hockey World Cup from India to a neutral venue, citing security concerns for its players.

According to sources, the PHF wrote a letter to the FIH highlighting potential risks for the Pakistani squad in India. The federation urged that Pakistan’s matches should be played at a safe alternative location instead of Indian soil.

The Junior Hockey World Cup is scheduled to take place in India from November 28 to December 11.

This is not the first time Pakistan has raised such objections. Previously, the national hockey team opted out of participating in the Asia Cup held in India due to similar concerns.
