
Dengue cases are on the rise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as seasonal changes set in, with 95 new infections confirmed in the past 24 hours, according to the provincial health department.
According to health department, the total number of dengue patients reported this month has reached 1,273, while health authorities have identified Charsadda, Mansehra, Haripur, Peshawar, Kohat, Swabi, and Mardan as high-risk districts.
The report noted that 23 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the province during the last day. Charsadda has emerged as the most affected district in September, recording 256 cases so far. Mansehra has reported 214 cases, Haripur 148, Peshawar 122, Kohat 99, Swabi 49, and Mardan 46.
Overall, 2,283 dengue cases have been confirmed in the province since the start of the year. Health officials confirmed that no fatalities linked to dengue have been reported so far.
The health department has urged residents in high-risk areas to take preventive measures, including using mosquito nets, covering water containers, and avoiding stagnant water near homes, to control the spread of the virus.
