Pakistani boxer Sameer Khan made history on Saturday by defeating India’s Bunty Singh to clinch the UBO Youth World Bantamweight title. With this victory, Pakistan secured its first-ever title in this championship category.
The match took place at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, where Khan displayed dominant performance throughout the bout. The judges awarded him a unanimous decision, officially declaring him the winner.
Ahead of the fight, Khan staged a “jet celebration” gesture raising his arms in a mock aircraft sign which appeared to anger his Indian opponent. Reports say Singh retaliated by shoving Khan during the photo shoot, but Khan responded decisively in the ring, overwhelming Singh with a barrage of punches.
After the win, Khan dedicated his achievement to the people of Pakistan and declared on social media: “Alhamdulillah, I am the first Pakistani to win this title — UBO Youth World Bantamweight Champion.”
This victory represents a significant moment for Pakistani boxing, especially on the youth stage.
