1 min read

Pakistan’s young squash talent Noor Zaman stormed into the final of the Nash Cup Squash Championship being played in Canada after an emphatic win over Colombia’s Matias Knudsen in the semifinals.

Zaman dominated the match, defeating Knudsen in straight games with scores of 11-3, 12-10, and 11-3. The 19-year-old Pakistani took just 28 minutes to seal his victory and secure a place in the championship decider.

Meanwhile, another Pakistani contender, Ashab Irfan, fell short in his semifinal clash against second seed Mostafa El Serty of Egypt. Irfan put up a fight but eventually lost 3-1.

The final showdown will now feature Pakistan’s Noor Zaman against Egypt’s Mostafa El Serty, with a prize purse of USD 31,250 at stake. The title match is expected to be a tough contest as El Serty heads into the final as one of the top-ranked players, while Zaman will be eyeing one of the biggest wins of his emerging career.
