Pakistani actress Anoushay Abbasi has confirmed that she has been divorced for the past six years, breaking her silence on a matter she had never publicly addressed before.
Anoushay, who married actor Ainan Arif Abbasi son of late cricketer Taslim Arif Abbasi in 2014, revealed in a recent interview that the marriage ended in 2019. “I have been single for six years. I divorced my husband in 2019 but never spoke about it until now,” she said.
Explaining why she kept the divorce private, the actress disclosed that her mother was gravely ill at the time, and she wanted to protect her from emotional distress. “When I got divorced, my mother was very unwell. I didn’t want people to ask her about it and cause her mental anguish. By keeping it a secret, I managed to save her from that pressure,” she added.
Her mother passed away in 2022, while her father had died in 2012. Anoushay said that after these losses, she and her siblings supported one another through difficult times. Despite the struggles, she expressed gratitude and said she is now content with her life.
