
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi Memon has ordered a formal inquiry against four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) over serious allegations of corruption, extortion, and facilitating illegal activities.
According to official sources, DSP Sohrab Goth Aurangzeb Khattak, DSP Kalakot Asif Munawar, DSP Kharadar Shabbir Ahmed, and DSP Eidgah Zafar Iqbal Bajola are facing investigations. Tanveer Alam Odho has been appointed as the inquiry officer to conduct the probe.
The charges against DSP Aurangzeb Khattak include allegations of facilitating land grabbing, smuggling operations, and the sale of Iranian diesel during his tenure as SHO Sachal. DSP Asif Munawar has been accused of collecting weekly extortion from drug dealers, gambling dens, gutka/mawa sellers, parking mafias, tea stalls, makeshift vendors, and local shopkeepers in his jurisdiction. DSP Shabbir Ahmed allegedly collected illegal money from cart vendors and roadside tea stalls in the Kharadar area, while DSP Zafar Iqbal Bajola is accused of taking extortion from illegal parking operators, handcart vendors, and tea stall owners in the Eidgah area.
The Sindh police chief has directed that the inquiry be completed promptly and that a detailed report be submitted by September 26, 2025. The move is seen as part of an internal accountability drive within the Sindh Police to curb corruption and restore public trust.
