KARACHI: Security around Bollywood star Salman Khan has been significantly increased at the set of Bigg Boss 19 following repeated death threats. The threats reportedly involve gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
According to media reports, Rishi Negi, CEO of Endemol Shine India, confirmed that about 600 people are now working in shifts around the clock to ensure safety. Full background checks are being carried out for everyone entering the show’s production, including temporary staff and vendors.
One major change: there will no longer be a live audience for episodes when Salman Khan appears, particularly for “Weekend Ka Vaar.” Entry and exit points at the set have tightened security, and outsider movement has been heavily restricted.
The threats stem from violent incidents associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In one such earlier incident, gunshots were fired outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra.
The production team said these measures are crucial not only for Salman’s safety but also for maintaining the smooth running of the show.
