TikToker Samia Hijab abduction case: accused sent to jail on judicial remand

ISLAMABAD: In the abduction and threats case of TikToker Samia Hijab, the main accused Hasan Zahid has been sent to jail on judicial remand by a local court in Islamabad.

According to reports, the case was heard in the District and Sessions Court before Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mehmood Chaudhry, where the accused was produced.

The court rejected the police request for an eight-day physical remand in the abduction case and instead ordered Zahid’s judicial remand. However, in a separate case involving threats and snatching of cash, the court accepted the police plea and granted a two-day physical remand.

Police told the court that they still need to recover a mobile phone, a V8 vehicle, and weapons from the accused. They added that Zahid’s information could lead to the arrest of other suspects. Police confirmed that two FIRs have been registered at Shalimar Police Station against him.

On the other hand, Zahid’s defense lawyer argued that he was engaged to Samia Hijab and was at a guest house at the time of the alleged incident, claiming that the second case was baseless.

The court has ordered further investigation in both cases. Zahid is accused of attempting to abduct the TikToker from outside her residence.
