LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani singer Hadiqa Kiani has stepped forward to help flood victims in Punjab as devastating monsoon rains and floods continue to wreak havoc across the country. Large parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remain submerged, with rescue teams carrying out relief operations in affected districts.
According to updates shared on her official Instagram account, Kiani, accompanied by her son, visited flood-hit areas in Kasur district to personally deliver aid and express solidarity with displaced families. She also appealed to the public for donations and urgent assistance for the victims.
In her video message, Kiani highlighted the scale of destruction, stating that many families had lost their belongings while livestock had also perished in the floods. She stressed that both survivors and stranded animals are in dire need of food and basic supplies.
The floods have left thousands homeless and destroyed standing crops, worsening the humanitarian crisis in Punjab’s rural belt. Relief operations by government bodies and local charities are ongoing, yet the scale of need remains overwhelming.
Kiani, who has previously been engaged in philanthropic efforts through her charity work, said this was a time when Pakistanis must come together to support their fellow citizens.
Her move has drawn widespread appreciation on social media, where fans and fellow celebrities lauded her commitment to humanitarian causes.
